A film suitable for all families is rated ‘G’ and beyond that, warning flags go up at various levels for various reasons: PG , PG -13, R, NC-17. Now they’ve stamped a ‘ PG ‘ rating on a new film ‘ Facing the Giants ,’ produced by a friend of mine, Alex Kendrick. 3/29/2007 · Facing the Giants is a heartwarming if overly religious story of faith winning out against fear. It’s a Christian fairy tale, so the outcome is obvious. This is a celluloid revival, and as such, may alienate non-religious viewers.
The coach is having a bad year for sure. He drives a beat up car, his house smells like something died, and worst of all-he and wife discover they can’t have children of their own. The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) board that hands out movie ratings says that it was in fact this pregnancy theme that earned Giants it’s PG rating.
Facing the Giants is about a down-and-out high school football coach who uses religion to fuel a personal and professional comeback. The two evangelical pastors from Georgia who made the film on a shoestring budget thought they might get a PG rating because the hard football hits and frank talk about one character’s infertility.
